The Squall
Evoking wild New Zealand where hardy natives endure relentless winds, frequent storms and brutal squalls. Landscapes in which the elements reign. Demanding that all bend and submit, or be broken.
Even on a calm day these tense, compact forms compel us to recognise the powerful forces that have shaped them.
And prompt us, perhaps, to consider our own character and the persuasive contemporary societies that shape us.
Do we also, finally, bend under the implacable conditions that surround us? Struggling to express our true nature only to become an expression of those very conditions themselves.
