In a departure from rusting steel and dirty welding this work respects the materials’ provenance and brings together two of New Zealand’s favourite icons.
Narrowly escaping the furnace (the artist’s usual method of removing paint and zinc and speeding corrosion) this 1950’s Fisher & Paykel wringer/washer cried out “white heron” as it was dismantled.
